Ecospeed is biocide free and 100% non-toxic. As a result of the coating's combined hardness and smoothness all fouling can be removed easily. This can be done underwater or with high pressure tools. Both methods are fast and efficient and only remove the fouling. The coating remains intact instead of being dispersed in the water or the floor of the boatyard.

The unwanted spreading of bio-fouling is completely avoided thanks to the underwater maintenace of Ecospeed. Several major ports, including Rotterdam, have overturned the existing general ban on underwater hull cleaning, specifically making an exception for vessels coated with Ecospeed.
